DETOUR
BAND : racines croisées
|
-
|
Led by the gifted singing, impeccable
playing, and honeyed harmonies of
vocalists/guitarists Natalie Shelar and
Jeanmarie Peschiutta, the Detour Band
shimmering blend of country, americana and
roots-rock made them one of the most
widely acclaimed artists to emerge from
the alternative country scene.
One of the most spellbinding duo in
american music, Arizona singer Natalie
Shelar and french guitarist Jeanmarie
Peschiutta, began playing together 25
years ago and still going strong. Their
musical kinship is astonishing. Like a
tightrope act, the two explore the
boundaries of a song, pushing at its edges
while never compromising its essential
nature. In the manner of great jazz duos,
Natalie and Jean-Marie inspire and urge
each other on, trading lead
vocals,commenting and responding,
streching out and digging in.
Last year they enlisted bassist Manni
Hollaender, a top german guitarist and
drummer Tom Engels whose various stints in
bands, from blues and r&b to rock,
includes touring with veteran band The
Brandos.
