Since the mid-1980's Natalie
Shelar has been a key figure on the
growing alternative country scene in
Europe, which has extended its roots
from its major outposts of Los Angeles
and Austin.
Natalie was seven when her family moved
to Tucson, Arizona, presenting her with
a new spectrum of sounds including
surf, blues, and Southern California
country-rock.
Greater musical challenges lured
Natalie to France in 1996. She quickly
cut an impressive niche in the
competitive club and festival scene all
over Europe, honing her vocal abilities
and developing a keen instinct for
strong live material.
DETOUR's performance is filled with
variety of styles that allows her to
wrap her powerful voice around both
hard-hitting rockers and twangy ballads
with masterful authority and admirable
